A Study on the effect of CSA to Phagocytic function

Abstract
The phagocytic cells such as PMNL and macrophage emit light or chemiluminescence during phagocytosis. The chemiluminescence response of whole blood and PMNL induced by PMA and bacteria was studied. We comapred the chemiluminescence response and the phagocytosis, bactericidal activity of PMNL, and macrophage on the sample treated with CSA, SFA, IVIG and USFA?C. The results may be summerized as follow :
1) The slope of the initial chemiluminescence and maximal chemiluminescence was independent on the test organism introduced as a stimulant.
2) Phagocytic activity of the PMNL on SFA and USFA?C treated group were increased but were not in CSA treated group.
3) Antimicrobial activity of the PMNL were increased in SFA and USFA? C treated group as above.
4) The CL intensity and intergral CL values in SFA and USFA?C treated group
were significantly increased than in CSA treated and control group.
5) CL values in combined CSA and USFA?C treated group were increased than
in CSA treated group, but lower than the value in USFA?C only treated group.
